Merry Christmas!

It is hard to believe that Christmas has come and gone. It seemed like it would never get here. I was so excited for Kyle's first Christmas. I had the same excitement I felt when I was young. I know that he will not remember this Christmas but was so much fun to watch him try to open his presents and explore his new toys.

On Christmas Eve we celebrated with my parents, Uncle Todd and Aunt Heather. Kyle's favorite gift was a caterpillar that had a string to pull it with. He loved the string! (his drool covered shirt says Santa is my Homeboy! WURD!)

Dad got us some really cool free T-shirts! Brian and I can't wait to wear our BET shirts!!

Then we were off to the Krajniks for some more celebrating!

Kyle was up very late on Christmas Eve, we did not get home until after 10:00. Two hours past his bedtime. He went right to sleep but did not stay asleep. I think he was excited about Santa.

Christmas morning we were up at 7:00 and Kyle had gifts under the tree from Santa!
After opening our Santa gifts were were back on the road to my parents house to visit for a few minutes with Aunt Heather and Uncle Todd before they head back to NJ.

Then we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Kyle was tired from his busy morning so he took a nap right when he got there. While Kyle was napping we had breakfast and opened gifts. We also watched the dogs go nuts. Here is a picture of our dog under the tree trying to "play" with peanut. Cole loved to sit under the tree. He is a strange dog.

After his nap Kyle was ready to open more gifts.

After a busy afternoon we were all ready to take a nap. So we headed home hoping to get a nap in. Well some of us did not want to nap...

Kyle after taking a 15 minute nap was ready to go. He was too excited about all his new gifts.

After our very short nap time we went to GG's house for dinner.
During this busy day Brian was not feeling well and by the end of the night had a fever and was ready for bed. So we headed back home. Kyle went right to bed and thankfully staying asleep until 7:30a.m.

After breakfast Kyle wanted to play with all his new toys.


Now where am I going to put all these toys????? And Yes most of these toys make annoying sounds or sing annoying songs.

I could not put pictures of all of Kyle's Christmas outfits on here but he had 5 outfits on during the Christmas celebration.

We had a great Christmas and even though we were very busy we loved spending time with our families.

No Carrots Please

Kyle has liked everything we have given him so far. I think we have found one thing that he does not like...carrots. We have tired to give him some one day and then wait a few days and tried again. Nope! I even sent it to Aunt Erica's and BB could not get him to eat any. It looked like he was wearing most of it :)
This past weekend he tried peas for the first time and he loved them. So I thought I would try mixing the two together and this is what happened.



In case you did not hear me say it 5 million times, I was feeding him peas and carrots. UG!

Sheild Your Eyes!

Brian had an ugly sweater contest at his work party. He searched all over Goodwill for the perfect sweater. He thought he had found the winner....




He wore it to Arundel Seafood and complete strangers were staring and giving him props for actually wearing it out in public. We were sure he was going to win.

Results:
He was in the top 3 but did not win. I do not dare post the winner as it may permanently damage your sight.


I am sure he will be searching all year to find the perfect sweater for next year.

All I want for Christmas

Kyle went to see Santa Clause tonight. He was very friendly to the guy that worked Santa's workshop. He let him hold him while he was waiting his turn. When it was Kyle's turn, he sat on Santa's lap and looked right at him and started to play with his beard. Maybe he was pulling on it to see if it was real. Then it only took a few minutes to realize that this is a stranger and where are my mom and dad. And this is what happened next.....


I hope he got a chance to tell Santa what he wanted before he started to cry.

Busy Weekend

We had another busy weekend. On Friday Kyle had 4 shots. He was such a trooper, he hardly cried. Then we joined the Arundel Seafood group for some dinner.
On Saturday we went to Kyle's friend Abby Robert's 1st birthday party. It was a swimming party. Kyle did not go swimming his bathing suit from this summer is a little snug. I think he was really embarrassed of his rolls around the ladies.

Then we went shopping for some Christmas things and a winter coat for Kyle.
I am not sure if he can move his arms once he is in this coat. But he is warm!!!!

After shopping we had dinner at Nana and Poppy's house.

On Sunday Brian got up early to start making Famous Mikes Crab Soup. A few of our friends came over to watch some football and enjoy the soup. Famous Mikes name was on the line, but no need to worry Brian did a great job making the soup. It was delicious. It was the perfect thing on such a cold day!

Big Head

Kyle was in need of a new winter hat because his size 12 month hat was getting too small. I picked out a new hat at the store and then looked at the size.... 2T/4T. The doctor said his head was big at his last appointment, I guess she was right. I did not believe that the hat purchased would fit a child that wears size 2T. But when I picked Kyle up from Aunt Erica's today she and Aunt Barbie had decided that Kyle's head is bigger than his cousin Arley's head (he is 2).
The doctor, the hats size and the cousin comparison all confirm that my son's head is huge. I am sure it is due to his large brain. :)

Thanksgiving

Kyle's first Thanksgiving was stuffed full of excitement. First he headed to grandma and grandpa's house. During lunch he really had his eyes on Uncle Tom's plate. But all he could eat was sweet potatoes. After lunch he had fun playing with Daisy, Lily (5 Lb beast) and Peanut.

Next Kyle headed to Nana and Poppy's house. Uncle Todd and Aunt Heather were in town so Kyle got to visit with them. They brought him some legos and a truck. Daddy and Uncle Todd had a good time playing with the legos :)

Thankful

On this Thanksgiving I am thankful for my family.

Cutting a Tooth x 2

Kyle has been fussy, waking up at night and had a runny nose for several days, I think we have figured out why....

He is getting his first 2 teeth!!! His bottom two teeth are starting to come in. They are very hard to see, when you try to look he sticks out his tongue. To see them you have to catch him smiling at you or crying.
So next time Kyle smiles at you it won't be a toothless one.

1/2 a Year

Kyle is 6 months old. I can't believe that he is that old. Time is going by so fast. I have LOVED every moment watching him grow and change so much. He is now sitting up on his own, grabbing for EVERYTHING (he loves my cell phone and watches), eating off a spoon, saying "da da" and shaking his head no. 

Today he had his well baby visit and here are his stats:

Weight: 19 lbs. 1 oz

Length: 26 1/2" 

He was going to get several vaccinations and a flu shot today but did not because he has a cold. He has a runny nose and is congested. So Brian and I are not getting full nights sleep right now :) 

He loves to eat off a spoon. Brian and I are making all his food and really enjoying it. He has had apples, squash, pears, sweet potatoes, and bananas. He eats 3 times a day about 2 servings a meal.  

Trick or Treat!

This was Kyle's first Halloween, he celebrated with no candy but with lots of costumes. I don't think he cared too much for the dressing up part, what he really wanted was candy. We did not take him trick or treating this year. Maybe next year.

Rock n Roll

Uncle Bryan has a special guitar for Kyle. It is just his size (in a few years). Kyle got to try out his guitar this weekend. I think he was really interested in it. He was playing some music for us but I think he could use those lessons from Uncle Bryan.

The Forgotten One

All of my posts are about Kyle or Cole, we do have another family member, Pedro our cat! He was king of the house and then we brought home a puppy and shortly after that a baby. He is a strange cat. He is SUPER friendly, loves attention and will come when you call his name.
He now spends his days avoiding the dog and seeking attention.

We Are Rollin'

Today I was in the kitchen cleaning a pair of poopie PJ's and Brian said "HE DID IT!!" I came in the dinning room and Kyle had ROLLED OVER!!! So mommy missed the first time because she was cleaning up poop!
I had to see if he would do it again... and he did several more times. The first couple of times he would have a face of surprise, but after mommy and daddy put him on his belly to see if he would do it again (several times), he had a look of "what is the big deal mommy and daddy!"

I Love my Doggie

Cole and Kyle have been shown an increased interest in each other lately. Cole especially in Kyle, now that Kyle is eating food. He tries to come around after to lick Kyle clean.

Cole has not shown he is jealous of Kyle except when Brian is playing with Kyle. But then again Cole gets jealous if Brian is showing anyone attention other then him.

It is getting harder to keep Cole away from Kyle now that Kyle is laying on the floor playing more. We have lots of baby gates around the house for Cole. Cole is still learning how BIG he is and where his feet are. I think that as Kyle gets older him and Cole will be best friends.

5 Pound Beast!

This is the story of how Cole became a wuss and Lily became the 5 pound beast.

It all started when Cole got a huge bone as a gift from his dad...

Then his cousin Lily came over to visit...
Cole wanted to play games with Lily but Lily just wanted eat Cole's bone. This is what happens when you interrupt Lily when she is eating a bone. *Click on the pictures to get the full effect of the 5lb beast.


* Note the growling you hear in this video is not Cole it is Lily.

Lily ended up leaving that night with a piece of Cole's bone. When she got home she had a fight with her sister Daisy and unfortunately for Lily, Daisy won. Cole was sad that he did not get to play any games with his cousin Lily.

Lessons we learned from this story...
1. Do NOT try to play with Lily when she is eating a bone.
2. Send home pieces of Cole's bone to share with ALL of his cousins.
3. Do not leave your giant bone laying around the house when your cousin Lily is coming over.

Staying Home

Today I had off work and that meant a day home with Kyle. Today reminded me how much I loved this summer staying home all day with Kyle. We had so much fun just hanging out.

We both got to sleep in a few hours and then had some oatmeal for breakfast (he is still not sure about that one). We played and then it was nap time. He took an hour nap in his crib! That is an improvement from this summer. I took this time to clean out his dresser and his closet to put away clothes that no longer fit him. I just could not believe how small he was and I was so sad to see some of my favorite outfits being packed away.

Then it was lunch time and more play time. He is laughing and smiling so much now. I just love to try and make him laugh. Now we are taking our afternoon nap. When he wakes up it will be time to eat and more play time!

Cole was a good dog today, we had some rough days during the summer but he has improved. Other than following me everywhere around the house he has just been napping all day.

I still wish I could stay home, but since I can't... I don't think I would want the situation to be any different. I love my job and I love Kyle's babysitter.

I am so excited to have another day off work next week and I am looking forward to spending the day with Kyle.

Tasting My First Food

Kyle is old enough now to start some real food. Last weekend he had rice cereal. He did great. He was opening his mouth for the spoon and trying to take food off the spoon. He swallows some of the food and the rest gets pushed out of his mouth.




This weekend we tried oatmeal. I don't think he really liked it because he made some funny faces. He did eventually get in some good swallows, while pushing the rest out of his mouth.

Next week we are going to try sweet potatoes....

My First Trip to The Zoo

Kyle had his first trip to the zoo. He was so excited for the trip he decided to wear his zoo outfit...

We went with our friend's Stephanie and Ben and their daughter Abby, and Rebecca and Kevin. We took the metro into the city, which was very interesting with two babies. We had a great time looking at the animals and walking around. The weather was perfect and we all had a great time. This time the animals did not all hide from me like they usually do. I was able to see a few animals before they turned and walked back into their houses. My favorite was the monkeys.

It was great to spend an afternoon with good friends and our baby. We are excited for our next outing with Kyle.

4 Month Update

Kyle had his 4 month well baby visit. Here are his stats....

Weight : 17 lbs 2 oz

Height: 25.5 inches

He is very close to rolling over and every day we think he might do it. We are going to adding food to his diet now. Mommy is going to try to be thrifty and make his food (wish me and Kyle good luck on that one).

It is amazing how fast time has gone. He is such a big boy and changing so much everyday!
