Play Dough

Today Kyle, Alex and Taylor and I made play dough. Kyle and Taylor did most of the work to prepare the play dough while Alex supervised.

Soon it was time to play.

Where was Alex when it was time to play?
He decided there was something more interesting up on the counter, so he pushed his chair over to check it out.

Yes you are cute, but you should not be climbing up on your chair. 

He almost got what he was looking for. 

We all had fun making and and playing with play dough. There were only a few pieces eaten (that I saw).

Maybe next week we will make slime.

Playing Outside

It is (well when the pictures were taken) February and we were playing outside without jackets in almost 70 degree weather. It was perfect!

Perfect to play in the sandbox. 

Perfect to blow.... I mean eat bubbles. 

 

Perfect to take a ride in the wagon. 

We can't wait for spring to finally arrive so we can play outside everyday!

Love

It is Valentines Day today. At our house not much is done to celebrate. We get each other cards and I might get some flowers, but it is business at usual at the Berning house. I tell the boys I love them all day and I tell Brian I love him everyday. We don't need a special day to tell each other how much we love each other.

But in the spirit of the day I tried to get a picture of the boys with some hearts Kyle and I made. The boys of course just liked to hit each other with the "heart swords" as Kyle called them. And instead of sitting on the baskets the decided it would be more fun to play in the baskets. But it did not matter, I still had fun watching them play and taking their pictures.
So Happy Valentines Day from us!

Compare

Here are few fun comparisons. 

Having two boys allows me to hand down clothes from Kyle to Alex. Even though they were not born during the same season I have found that a lot of clothing is able to be used from Alex. Each time I get out Kyle's old clothes for Alex I can remember him wearing the clothes. It brings back so many memories and at the same time reminds me how big Kyle is getting. When I got his out today I could remember this exact picture of Kyle wearing this outfit. Kyle was 20 months old when this picture was taken and Alex is 14 months old. 

I also decided to look at a picture of Kyle when he was 14 months old and compare it with Alex. They look so different from each other. As different looking as they are different in their personalities. I had forgotten how bald Kyle was when he was so young. I remember him not having a lot of hair but compared to Alex he is very bald. But of course they are both adorable!!!!! 

When I was looking for a picture of Kyle at 14 months old I came across this picture of Kyle with his friend Abby.  I love this picture because it is so true of their personalities now. And I was so amazed how it shows even when the first picture was taken. Abby is so outgoing and Kyle is very cautious. Still today this is how their pictures look. I hope that their wedding pictures won't look like these.... 

Christmas

It felt like Christmas was never going to get here and then all of the sudden it was over. I just get so excited for the boys. My favorite part of Christmas was watching them on Christmas morning! This was the first year that Kyle really understood about Santa (enough to tell me that Santa was not allowed to tip toe in his room while he was sleeping to put his stocking on the bed.) anyways.... while he was opening presents he would say "Santa must have known I liked/wanted this!" It was so sweet. Alex did not understand what was going on just that all of the sudden there were tons of new toys to play with in the family room.
It was so much fun spending time with all of our family and running from place to place to celebrate with everyone.

Santa came!!

Alex liked to climb on all the gifts.

Kyle sat on this and opened all his presents. 

It took the boys a while to open all their presents. Kyle likes to take his time and look at and play with everything and Alex has no interest in opening presents.

Tis the Season....

for a farting Santa butt (or as Kyle would say a "tooting Santa bumie") Christmas tree ornament.

Farting Santa ornament was a gift to Brian from Dawn and Randy last year. Thank you for such a festive Christmas decoration that we will enjoy for years to come.
