Kyle got a Valentines card from Nana and Poppy. I thought he could say thank you with a picture. It did not work out as I had planned, I forgot that he loves paper. At least he had a great time!

Thank you
Kyle got a Valentines card from Nana and Poppy. I thought he could say thank you with a picture. It did not work out as I had planned, I forgot that he loves paper. At least he had a great time!
Preppy Boy
9 months!
Kyle is 9 months old and I can't believe how much he is growing up. He has changed so much in just the last few weeks. He is starting to really have his own personality. He is the happiest boy and just loves to play.
Here are a few things that Kyle has perfected, mastered, started to do or are otherwise just so cute and I have to brag....
- He will clap when you say "Yeah!"
- He will wave bye bye and hello!
- He has done "how big is Kyle.... So big"
- He is a drool machine again. I mean it is CONSTANT! Gross! I think we are getting ready for some more teeth very soon.
- He can sit on his bottom from a crawl or laying down. When he does this he will clap for himself and look to see if you are clapping for him.
- He plays peek a boo. He will cover his face with a bib, clothes or a cloth and wait for you to say "where is Kyle?" and pull it off of his face.
- He pulls himself up on things.
- He stands holding on to something for long periods of time. His favorite place to stand is at his toy table thing that has some very interesting buttons that play music.
- We had our first real temper tantrum. I am talking laying on the floor and pounding our fists on the ground. He wanted a cheerio.
- He is eating finger foods. He has had cheese, chicken, cheerios, sweet potatoes, carrots and crackers. He loves to feed himself.
- His crawling has improved. He can turn to go in another direction and crawl on the hardwood floor without slipping.
- He has gone up one step. He loves to crawl over the steps and try this over and over. He does not get upset when he falls down he gets up and tries again.
- We are working on baby signs. He will on occasion sign "more" when he is eating. Other signs we are doing are eat, milk and finished.
- He is still a "drama king."
- Naps and nighttime are great. He is doing so well with no crying just going right down to sleep. It is wonderful! And if he does wake up he will find his pasie and put it in his mouth himself.
- Spit up is almost never. Hooray for clean clothes not smelling like barf!
Today he had his 9 month well baby visit and here are his stats:
Length: 28 1/4"
Weight: 21 lbs 6 oz.
Head: still gigantic :) I actually do not remember the measurement but the doctor commented again on the size of his head.
I am just amazed everyday at how much he has changed and learned. I find it so facinating to watch him discover his world.

Got String?
One of Kyle's favorite things to play with is string. It does not matter if it is attached to a toy or your sweatshirt he LOVES it. One of his favorite toys is a caterpillar that has a yellow string to pull it around with. Kyle will sit and stare at the string and move it from hand to hand. He is fascinated with this yellow string. Every time he pulls on the string it sings a VERY excited ABC's (yes that can get annoying after a while).
*he is not naked, his fat belly is folding over his diaper. And he does not have a fake tan on his face he just finished eating lasagna.

On The Move
Kyle is crawling!!!! At first he was only able to go backwards and as Aunt Erica said "trying to be an inch worm." But over the last week he has mastered the hands and feet working together to move where he wants to go in a forward direction. He gets a little further and better with each day. We know our lives will never be the same and we need to baby proof ASAP!
I wonder how he got in this position??
Not only is Kyle crawling now he LOVES to pull himself up to stand when given the chance. And if it was up to him he would stand and try and walk all day.
For us to add baby gates to our two stairways we have begun the process of adding a newel post and a railing. Because we are not finished we needed to find a way to confine Kyle to a small area when he was upstairs. So we got out the "Baby Jail."
But I think we got it backwards...
I will post a video soon.
